Transparency by Texas Special Districts
Texas has numerous special districts with a wide variety of purposes. Whether they are metropolitan transit authorities providing public transportation, river authorities protecting the state's surface water, or community colleges providing secondary education, all special districts are public agencies. As such, their records are open to the public.
The following listing provides information on how special districts in Texas are providing financial transparency to the public. The Comptroller's office relies on the assistance of local governments to maintain the accuracy of these links. Special districts may email us data about their websites at transparency@cpa.state.tx.us or submit a Leadership Circle Award application (PDF) at any time.
